ESS Opens its Doors
Founding of Environment & Safety Solutions, Inc.
March 17, 2003 -- Peter F. Downing, CHMM, and Rachelle Alexander are proud to announce the founding of our new consulting firm dedicated exclusively to providing value-added environmental and safety services. Both Mr. Downing and Ms. Alexander have extensive experience in providing environmental and safety services to clients from all areas of the economic spectrum. From small, "mom and pop" businesses to large multinational corporations, they have provided valuable services and insight to their clients.
Both Mr. Downing and Ms. Alexander come to ESS from Reach Associates Environmental, Inc., formerly based in Springfield, New Jersey. Reach Associates recently closed its' doors after over 30 years in business. Prior to joining Reach, Mr. Downing was the Director of Environmental, Health and Safety Programs for Fidelity Chemical Products Corporation, a division of Auric Corporation. Based in Newark, NJ, Fidelity had operations in Malaysia, Ireland, and the United States. Mr. Downing was responsible for all aspects of regulatory compliance within the company. Auric Corporation was sold to OM Group, Inc., Cleveland, Ohio, in December of 1998, at which time Mr. Downing assumed a leadership role at Reach as the Vice President and General Manager. Bringing his industrial experience to our clients, Mr. Downing has ready experience along with regulatory insight to identify and relate to the concerns of our clients and provide practical, first-hand solutions to those concerns.
Ms. Alexander comes to ESS after serving as Project Manager for Reach Associates. Her project experience ranges from limited Phase I Environmental Site Assessments to multimillion dollar ISRA related site remediations. Ms. Alexander's working knowledge of the regulations coupled with her field experience allow her to address our clients needs from a very practical perspective. Working as a member of our clients' teams, Ms. Alexander has proven to be a valuable asset to our clients.
